What we do

Tree surgery, sorted — from a hedge trim to a full removal.

Every job is scoped and quoted by Tsvetoslav directly. For larger or higher-access jobs, we bring in vetted freelance climbers and ground workers from our trade network — so scale never means handing you off to a stranger.

Tree Pruning — full details

Regular pruning keeps a tree healthy, structurally sound and looking its best — removing dead, diseased or crossing branches before they become a bigger (and more expensive) problem. We prune with the tree's long-term shape and health in mind, covering deadwooding, formative pruning for young trees, and light crown thinning for air and light.

Guide price: £180 – £320 · waste chipped or removed as standard
Crown Reduction — full details

Lowers the overall height and spread of a tree while keeping its natural shape — useful where a tree has outgrown its space, is blocking light, or is putting pressure on a boundary, roofline or overhead cable. We cut to suitable growth points rather than flat-topping, so the tree recovers well. Tree Preservation Order (TPO) and conservation area checks are included at quote stage.

Guide price: £300 – £600
Crown Lifting — full details

Removes the lower branches of a tree to raise the base of the canopy — commonly used to clear a path, driveway or lawn, let more light into a garden, or improve sightlines near a road or entrance. We assess the right lift height for the tree's health rather than stripping more than necessary.

Guide price: £280 – £480
Hedge Cutting & Maintenance — full details

From a quick tidy-up to bringing a badly overgrown boundary hedge back under control — leylandii, privet, beech, laurel and mixed native hedging all covered. For landlords and property managers, we set up seasonal maintenance visits so hedges never get out of hand between appointments.

Guide price: £180 – £280 per visit
Tree Removal — full details

Where a tree is dead, diseased, unstable or simply in the wrong place, full removal is sometimes the safest option — carried out as a straightforward felling or a careful sectional dismantle where space is tight. For larger or higher-risk removals, we bring in experienced subcontract climbers and ground workers from our trade network.

Guide price: £450+, depending on size & access
Emergency Storm Damage Work — full details

A fallen limb blocking access, a split trunk after high winds, or a tree that's suddenly leaning and looking unstable — this is what emergency callouts are for. We prioritise making the site safe first, then agree next steps. Calling the number directly gets the fastest response, since it goes straight to the founder.

Priced on assessment · same-day response wherever possible
Garden & Site Clearance — full details

Overgrown gardens, neglected rental properties, and building plots that need clearing before work can start — we cut back, remove and dispose of green waste, brush and small trees. Popular with landlords taking on a new rental, estate agents preparing a garden for photos, and homeowners tackling a garden that's got away from them.

Guide price: £200 – £450, depending on scale
Stump Grinding — full details

A stump left behind after a removal can be a trip hazard, block re-turfing or planting, or just be an eyesore. We grind stumps below ground level using specialist hired equipment or trusted subcontract partners — best quoted alongside a removal, or as a standalone visit for an old stump.

Why Canopy

You get the person who quoted the job — not a call centre.

Most tree surgery quotes go through a booking line, then a rotating crew turns up. Canopy Tree Care is run by one arborist, Tsvetoslav, who surveys the tree, prices the job honestly and is usually the one holding the saw.

  • Clear, itemised quotes before any work starts
  • Site left tidy — all green waste removed responsibly
  • Public liability insured for residential & commercial sites
  • Vetted subcontract climbers for larger or higher-risk jobs

Where we work

Tree surgeons covering London, borough by borough.

Canopy Tree Care is mobile and home-based — no premises overheads, no reason to say no to a job because it's "too far out."

  • North: Islington, Camden, Haringey, Enfield, Barnet, Hackney
  • East: Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest, Redbridge
  • South: Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Greenwich, Croydon, Bromley
  • West: Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Hounslow, Richmond

Central London, Westminster and the City are covered too — central sites usually mean tighter access, so let us know about parking, gates or shared courtyards when you send over the job. Don't see your borough listed? Get in touch anyway — if it's a reasonable drive, we'll quote it.

Founder

Tsvetoslav Borkov Hristov

Before starting Canopy Tree Care, Tsvetoslav spent six years working for Tree Star, an established London tree surgery business — gaining direct, practical experience across pruning, reductions, removals, hedge work, waste clearance and the day-to-day realities of working safely on residential and commercial sites.

Canopy Tree Care exists to put that experience to work directly for customers — without the overheads, and without the layers between the person who quotes the job and the person who does it.

Frequently asked

Questions we get before every job.

Are you insured?

Yes — Canopy Tree Care carries public liability insurance for work on residential and commercial sites, and the work vehicle is insured for business use. Proof of cover is available on request before any job starts.

Do I need permission before pruning or removing a tree?

Sometimes — trees can be protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), or your property may sit in a conservation area, both of which affect what work can legally be carried out. We check this as part of every quote.

How quickly can you attend an emergency callout?

For storm damage or a genuinely dangerous tree, we prioritise same-day assessment wherever possible. Call the number above directly for the fastest response.

Do you take the green waste away?

Yes, unless you'd prefer to keep the wood or woodchip. All green waste is taken to licensed disposal or recycling facilities as standard — this is included in your quote.

How is a job priced?

On tree size, access, complexity, height risk and how much waste needs removing. You'll always get a clear price before work starts — see the guide pricing table above for typical ranges.

Photos help more than a long description — a quick snap of the tree or hedge, plus a sense of scale, is usually enough for a solid ballpark price.
